Rental FAQ Videos:

What to Expect When Renting at Glamis Sand Dunes

These FAQ videos answer the most common questions our team hears from first-time renters at the Glamis Sand Dunes. Each video shows you exactly what to expect when renting an ATV or UTV at Glamis, from the moment you arrive at Vendor Row to the moment you return your vehicle. Watch before your trip so there are no surprises on rental day.

Every video includes a written summary below it. The text answers are also available on our FAQ page for quick reference.

Glamis ATV FAQ: How Does the Safety Briefing Work?

The safety briefing is required for every renter before you ride. This video captures a real briefing at Vendor Row so you can see exactly what our team covers: vehicle controls, dune riding rules, terrain hazards, emergency procedures, and restricted riding zones. The briefing typically takes 10 to 15 minutes and is tailored to your specific vehicle type. UTV renters receive a different briefing than ATV renters because the controls and riding techniques differ.

Glamis Rental Checklist: What Should I Bring?

This video covers the essential items to bring for a day of riding at the Glamis Sand Dunes. Our team walks through the full rental checklist: valid driver’s license or ID for check-in, credit card for the security deposit, closed-toe shoes (required), long pants (recommended), eye protection, water (at least one gallon per rider per day), sunscreen, and a phone charger. Riders who show up prepared get on the sand faster and stay more comfortable throughout the day.

  • Valid driver’s license, state-issued ID, passport, or international driving permit
  • Credit card for the $500 security deposit hold
  • Closed-toe shoes (sandals and flip-flops are not permitted while riding)
  • Long pants to protect from sand and sun exposure
  • Water: minimum 1 gallon per rider for a full day
  • Sunscreen (SPF 50+), lip balm with SPF, and eye protection
  • Phone charger or portable battery pack

UTV Rental Process: How Do Fuel and Deposits Work?

This video explains the two costs beyond your daily rental rate: fuel and the security deposit. Fuel can be purchased in advance at a discounted per-gallon rate, or you can pay the standard per-gallon price at return. The $500 security deposit is a hold on your credit card placed at pickup. It is not charged unless the vehicle is returned with damage beyond normal wear. The hold releases automatically within 7 days of returning the vehicle in the same condition. Broken belts and broken axles are considered rider responsibility per the rental agreement.

Should I Rent an ATV or UTV at Glamis Sand Dunes?

This is the most common question first-time renters ask. The video breaks down the differences visually so you can see both vehicle types side by side on the sand. ATVs are single-rider quads with handlebars, ideal for solo riders who want a physical, nimble riding experience at $269/day. UTVs are side-by-side vehicles with a roll cage, steering wheel, and seating for 2 to 4 passengers, starting at $724.90/day. The video includes footage of both vehicle types in action at the Glamis dunes so you can compare the riding experience before booking.

Can Beginners Ride a UTV at the Glamis Dunes?

Yes. This video follows a first-time UTV rider through their entire Glamis rental experience. The footage captures their safety briefing, first minutes on the sand, and progression throughout the day. Our entry-level Maverick X3 DS Turbo (120HP) is specifically designed to be approachable while still delivering real dune performance. The 64-inch stance keeps handling predictable, and our team calibrates the safety briefing to match each rider’s experience level. Beginners consistently tell us they felt comfortable on the sand within the first 15 to 20 minutes.
