Before you book a UTV rental, it helps to know exactly what is required so nothing slows you down at pickup. The requirements are straightforward. Most people have everything they need already. This page goes through each one so you can show up ready to go.
If you have a specific situation such as renting for a group, bringing younger riders, or booking for a corporate outing, call us and we will walk through it with you directly.
ACTION NEEDED: Several requirements need confirmation before publishing: minimum driver age, minimum passenger age, accepted license types, deposit amounts per machine tier, card types accepted for deposit, and whether digital pre-signing is available for the waiver. All items are flagged below.

CONFIRM minimum driver age and minimum passenger age before publishing. These are the most-searched requirements. Accuracy here matters more than any other section on this page.
Yes. A valid driver’s license is required to rent and drive a UTV from Mountain Riders. [CONFIRM – driver’s license only, or driver’s license plus credit card?]
You do not need an off-road endorsement, a motorcycle license, or any special certification. A standard driver’s license issued by any US state is accepted. [CONFIRM whether foreign or international licenses are accepted and update this line accordingly.]
Passengers do not need a license. Only the driver needs to present one at pickup.
Every rider in the machine signs a waiver before heading out. The waiver acknowledges that off-road riding carries inherent risk and that you understand how to operate the machine safely. It is not a document designed to catch you out. It is standard for every rental operation of this kind.
The waiver is completed on arrival and takes about five minutes. We go through it with you so nothing is a surprise. If you have questions about any part of it, ask before you sign. For riders under 18, a parent or guardian must sign on their behalf.
ACTION NEEDED: CONFIRM whether a digital waiver is available in advance or is signed on-site only. If digital pre-signing is available, add a link here. Also confirm whether a parent needs to be present in person or can sign remotely.
A deposit is held on your card at pickup. The amount depends on the machine you are renting. Higher-performance machines carry a higher deposit because repair costs are higher. [CONFIRM deposit amounts per machine tier and add them here before publishing.]
The deposit is a hold, not a charge. It does not leave your account unless there is damage to the machine. We inspect the machine with you at pickup and note any existing wear or marks before you leave. That way the return inspection is clean and there are no disputes about pre-existing damage.
These apply to every UTV rental regardless of machine or experience level.
Helmet, goggles, gloves, and neck brace on before the machine moves. No exceptions.
Harness fully buckled for driver and all passengers at all times.
Stay on designated trails unless otherwise instructed.
Observe posted speed limits in staging and camp areas.
Trail flag must be mounted and visible at all times.
No alcohol or impairment before or during the rental.
No riding after dark unless specifically arranged in advance.
No removing safety equipment while the machine is in motion.
No passengers beyond the rated seating capacity of the machine.

The minimum age to drive a UTV rental at Mountain Riders is [CONFIRM AGE]. You must hold a valid driver’s license. Passengers must be [CONFIRM AGE] or older. Riders under 18 require a parent or guardian signature on the waiver.
Yes. A valid driver’s license is required to drive a UTV rental. You do not need an off-road endorsement or any special certification. A standard driver’s license is all you need. Passengers do not need a license.
No. A valid driver’s license is required for the person driving the machine. If you do not have one, you can still ride as a passenger as long as you meet the minimum passenger age requirement and someone in your group holds a valid license and drives.
Yes, within the age limits. Passengers must be [CONFIRM AGE] or older. All passengers ride with a helmet, goggles, gloves, and neck brace fitted at pickup. A parent or guardian must sign the waiver for anyone under 18.
The waiver acknowledges that off-road riding has inherent risks and that you have received a safety briefing and agree to follow the on-site rules. We go through it with you at pickup so nothing is a surprise. It takes about five minutes to complete.
It is held, not charged. We place a hold on your card at pickup. If the machine comes back in good condition, the hold is released within a few business days. The deposit is only charged if there is damage beyond normal wear.
